Keratin 13 (KRT13) is a type I intermediate filament protein encoded on chromosome 17q21.2 and expressed in the suprabasal layers of non-cornified stratified squamous epithelia, including oral mucosa, esophagus, and ectocervix.
Supplied by Antibodies.com at 100 µl per vial as an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent, this antibody is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples.
Anti-KRT13 immunoreactivity is widely applied to assess epithelial differentiation status. Reduced or absent staining marks dysplastic transformation in oral squamous cell carcinoma, and the antibody helps stratify oropharyngeal tumors into HPV-associated versus HPV-independent categories in pathology workflows.
For best results, store at -20°C in working aliquots and protect from light to limit freeze-thaw damage to the antibody titer. The reagent ships as a liquid in a single vial and is intended for research use only on human tissue.
