KPNA2, also known as Importin Alpha 1, is a nuclear import receptor that shuttles proteins carrying classical nuclear localization signals across the nuclear envelope. The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and targets KPNA2 for detection in human, mouse, and rat samples. Supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial, it supports Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows without the need for prior conjugation. Researchers studying nucleocytoplasmic transport, cell cycle progression, and tumor biology commonly use this reagent because altered KPNA2 expression has been reported across several cancer types, including breast, lung, and cervical malignancies. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage than a monoclonal clone, which can be helpful when monitoring KPNA2 across different post-translational states or isoforms. For immunohistochemistry, antigen retrieval conditions should be optimized to the specific tissue type and fixative used, and for immunofluorescence the antibody can be paired with a fluorescent secondary reagent of the researcher's choice.
