Kininogen-1 (KNG1) is a multifunctional plasma glycoprotein encoded on human chromosome 3q27.3, best known as the precursor from which plasma kallikrein liberates the vasoactive peptide bradykinin during contact activation. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human KNG1 and is supplied as an unconjugated, affinity-purified IgG fraction in a 100 µL vial. The reagent was raised in rabbit, validated on human samples, and tested in Western blot and immunohistochemistry, giving laboratories a single reagent for protein-level confirmation in lysates and tissue-localisation studies in fixed sections. Kininogen-1 circulates as a single-chain precursor that, on cleavage by kallikrein, yields bradykinin plus the cleaved HMWK or LMWK chains implicated in coagulation, fibrinolysis and innate inflammation, so reliable detection of intact KNG1 versus its cleavage fragments is useful in contact-system and hereditary angioedema research. Each lot is shipped refrigerated, and aliquoting upon arrival is recommended to preserve reactivity over time. Researchers studying hereditary kininogen deficiency, bradykinin-mediated inflammation, or the contact activation pathway can apply this reagent for western blot loading controls, IHC on liver or vascular tissue, and related assay workflows where clean polyclonal detection of human KNG1 is required.
