Kallikrein-7 (KLK7), also called stratum corneum chymotryptic enzyme, is a secreted serine protease best known for cleaving corneodesmosin and related corneodesmosome components to drive stratum corneum desquamation. It is expressed strongly in differentiated keratinocytes of the upper epidermis, and dysregulated KLK7 activity has been documented in skin barrier disorders as well as in tumor invasion and metastasis in carcinomas of the skin, ovary, breast, and pancreas, making the protein a target of active interest in dermatology, oncology, and biomarker discovery research.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against recombinant human KLK7 and is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot in a single-use vial. The reagent binds endogenous human KLK7 in denatured Western blot workflows and in fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections for immunohistochemistry (IHC), with reactivity validated against human samples. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal format allows pairing with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents of the researcher's choice, supporting flexible detection across blotting and staining pipelines.

Manufacturer-validated applications are Western blot and immunohistochemistry; the reagent has not been validated for ELISA, ICC/IF, or flow cytometry. Researchers commonly deploy it to map KLK7 expression in normal epidermis and inflammatory skin disease models, and to score KLK7 staining in tumor tissue microarrays where it has been proposed as a prognostic and invasion marker in epithelial cancers. For handling, the vial should be refrigerated in single-use working aliquots and protected from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the stock, and consult the lot-specific data sheet for recommended storage temperature and shelf life before first use.
