Kallikrein-1 is a tissue serine protease encoded by the KLK1 gene that cleaves kininogen to release bradykinin, and the unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com enables detection of the protein in human, mouse, and rat samples by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. Supplied as 100 µL of antiserum in a vial, the antibody is validated for both immunoblotting of cell or tissue lysates and chromogenic or fluorescent staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections. KLK1 is normally expressed in renal tubular epithelium, pancreatic islet cells, salivary gland ducts, and select vascular beds, so the reagent supports studies of blood pressure regulation, sodium handling, and inflammatory signaling pathways in translational rodent-to-human research. For Western blot, separation of lysate on an SDS-PAGE gel and probing at a working dilution typically reveals a band near 28 kDa, matching the calculated molecular weight of mature Kallikrein-1. For immunohistochemistry, heat-induced antigen retrieval in citrate buffer followed by incubation with the primary antibody and an appropriate HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagent yields specific staining of KLK1-positive structures within tissue architecture.
