Produced by Antibodies.com, this mouse monoclonal antibody (clone KT86) targets keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), a high-molecular-weight, copper-containing oxygen transport protein isolated from the marine gastropod Megathura crenulata. Because KLH is absent from mammalian tissues, KT86 is widely used as a negative or isotype control matched to mouse IgA, enabling researchers to quantify background and Fc-receptor interactions in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry panels that include IgA primary antibodies. This is particularly valuable for mucosal immunology studies, secretory IgA investigations, and B-cell subset profiling where matched isotype controls are essential for accurate gating.

The reagent is supplied as a liquid in a single vial containing 100 µg of purified antibody, unconjugated and free of carrier protein, allowing direct conjugation or use as a primary control.
