Recognizing the inhibitory NK-cell receptor KIR2DL3, this rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on natural killer cells and on a subset of CD8+ T lymphocytes. The receptor engages HLA-C group 1 alleles (HLA-Cw3 and related allotypes) through two extracellular immunoglobulin domains and signals through cytoplasmic ITIM motifs to temper NK-cell cytolytic activity against healthy HLA-expressing targets.

Validated for Western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry on human specimens, the unconjugated reagent is supplied in 100 µl volume, leaving secondary-label selection open for fluorophore- or enzyme-based detection chemistries. Polyclonal reactivity supports detection of KIR2DL3 in tissue sections, on NK lines, and in primary lymphocyte cultures, which makes the antibody relevant to studies of NK-cell education, KIR/HLA ligand pairing, reproductive immunology, transplant matching, and viral-infection models where NK licensing is implicated.

Common applications include profiling KIR repertoire on innate lymphocyte populations by imaging, tracking inhibitory-receptor expression in disease cohorts, and distinguishing closely related KIR family members that share homology but differ in cytoplasmic signaling.
