Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified against the inhibitory killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor 2DL1 (also known as CD158a or p58.1), this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 50 µl and validated for Western blot (WB) detection of the target in human and mouse samples.
KIR2DL1 is a two-Ig-domain type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and on a subset of CD8+ T lymphocytes. It engages HLA-C class I molecules carrying a lysine residue at position 80, delivering an inhibitory signal through cytoplasmic ITIM (immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif) sequences that suppresses NK-cell cytotoxicity against healthy autologous targets.
The reagent is suited to work in NK-cell licensing, maternal-fetal immune tolerance at the trophoblast interface, and KIR-ligand matching in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, where donor KIR2DL1 status has been linked to graft-versus-leukemia outcomes and to susceptibility to viral infection.
