The KIR2DL1 protein belongs to the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor family expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and a fraction of CD8+ T lymphocytes, where it delivers inhibitory signals through immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibition motifs upon engagement of HLA-C allotypes that carry a Lys80 motif. The polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit, purified as an IgG preparation, and supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume suitable for immunoblotting workflows.

Validated specifically for Western blot applications on samples of human and mouse origin, the antibody enables detection of full-length KIR2DL1 in cell lysates prepared from NK cell lines, primary lymphocytes, or transfected cell models. Investigators studying NK cell education, missing-self recognition, reproductive immunology, and transplant tolerance rely on KIR2DL1-specific antibodies to profile inhibitory receptor expression and dissect ligand specificity within the HLA-C2 interaction network.

Because the antibody is supplied as a liquid polyclonal IgG preparation, handling guidance common to such reagents applies, including aliquoting on arrival, freezing at -20 °C, and avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Each vial contains the polyclonal fraction in a carrier solution suitable for dilution into Tris-buffered saline or phosphate-buffered saline with non-ionic detergent before application to Western blot membranes.
