The KIR2.1 target is encoded by the KCNJ2 gene and is the classical strong inward-rectifier potassium channel underlying the IK1 current in cardiac atrial and ventricular myocytes. This rabbit polyclonal antibody is supplied at 100 µL and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA applications, with demonstrated reactivity against human and rat samples. As an unconjugated primary reagent, it can be paired with a user-selected secondary antibody for fluorescence, chromogenic, or chemiluminescent detection workflows. The KIR2.1 channel is of significant research interest in cardiac electrophysiology, atrial fibrillation studies, skeletal muscle membrane excitability, and Andersen-Tawil syndrome, a rare channelopathy associated with periodic paralysis, ventricular arrhythmias, and dysmorphic features. Antibodies.com provides this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent for research use only in studies of ion channel expression, localization, and regulation across cardiac, neural, and endothelial tissues.
