Kininogen-1 (KNG1) is a multifunctional plasma glycoprotein and the parent precursor of the vasoactive peptides bradykinin and kallidin, which act through B1 and B2 receptors to mediate vasodilation, vascular permeability, and pain signaling. Beyond its kinin-releasing role, KNG1 serves as a critical cofactor in the intrinsic coagulation cascade, where its cleaved high-molecular-weight form supports contact activation on negatively charged surfaces.

The Antibodies.com Anti-Kininogen-1 Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against human KNG1 and supplied as 100 µg of unconjugated Ig in a single vial. It has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, giving laboratories a single reagent that supports both protein-level verification in cell lysates and tissue localization in fixed sections. The antibody reacts specifically with human kininogen-1, making it a useful tool for studies of coagulation, contact activation, hereditary angioedema, sepsis-associated capillary leak, and inflammatory signaling.

Researchers can use this reagent to probe KNG1 expression in hepatocyte-derived plasma, vascular endothelium, and renal tissue, where the protein is naturally abundant, or to evaluate cleavage products following kallikrein activation. As a polyclonal reagent, it recognizes multiple epitopes on KNG1, which generally improves detection of processed forms compared with monoclonal antibodies. For antigen retrieval in IHC, standard citrate or EDTA protocols are typically compatible, and the unconjugated format allows HRP, biotin, or fluorescent secondary labeling depending on the assay design. For long-term use, store at -20 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.
