KIF3A is a microtubule-based motor protein of the kinesin-2 family that drives anterograde intraflagellar transport and vesicle trafficking along microtubules. It assembles as a heterotrimeric complex with KIF3B and the non-motor subunit KAP3, anchoring cargoes such as signaling receptors and polarity complexes to the ciliary tip and base.
This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated Ig, validated for Western blot detection of endogenous KIF3A in human and mouse samples and for immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue.
Loss or mutation of KIF3A perturbs primary cilia assembly, sonic hedgehog pathway response, and neuronal cargo delivery, which is why the antibody is used in studies of polycystic kidney disease, ciliopathies, left-right axis patterning, and cargo sorting in polarized epithelia and neurons.
Aliquot on first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light to preserve activity.
