Raised in rabbit against the kinesin-13 microtubule-depolymerase MCAK, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µl vial of unconjugated antibody and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. KIF2C localizes to centromeres and kinetochores during mitosis, where its microtubule-depolymerizing activity corrects erroneous kinetochore-microtubule attachments and supports accurate chromosome segregation. The antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat KIF2C, enabling comparative studies of mitotic spindle assembly across mammalian cell types and tissue samples. In cancer research and cell biology laboratories, it is used to investigate aneuploidy, mitotic checkpoint signaling, chromosome instability, and the molecular machinery of cell division. It pairs well with markers for centromere protein CENP-A, Aurora B kinase, and other mitotic regulators in co-localization and biochemical fractionation experiments.
