A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets KIF2C, the ATP-dependent microtubule depolymerase also called MCAK that localizes to centromeres and inner kinetochores during mitosis. The unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows in human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for tracking kinetochore and spindle microtubule dynamics in fixed cells and tissue sections.

Because KIF2C corrects erroneous microtubule attachments and promotes proper bi-orientation of sister chromatids before anaphase onset, this reagent is widely used in studies of cell division, mitotic checkpoint control, and chromosomal instability. Elevated KIF2C expression has been reported in breast, lung, gastric, and colorectal carcinomas, supporting its interest as a marker of proliferative index and tumor grade in oncology research.

For best results, store the vial at -20 °C in small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. The antibody is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
