This rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com targets KIF18A, a plus-end directed kinesin motor protein required for mitotic chromosome congression and proper bipolar spindle assembly during cell division. Raised in rabbit and affinity purified as an unconjugated IgG preparation, the reagent is supplied as a 100 µl vial of liquid stock and is validated specifically for Western blot detection of the endogenous human KIF18A protein in whole-cell and tissue lysates.

KIF18A has attracted intense interest in cancer research because its overexpression has been documented in breast, colorectal, lung and hepatocellular carcinomas, where elevated levels frequently correlate with advanced tumor grade and reduced patient survival. Investigators studying mitotic checkpoint fidelity, chromosome segregation errors, kinetochore-microtubule attachment dynamics, and the response of dividing cells to antimitotic drugs routinely rely on this reagent to monitor endogenous KIF18A levels, confirm siRNA or CRISPR knockout efficiency in cell culture models, and compare expression across tumor versus matched normal tissue samples.

For Western blot, the antibody is applied to lysates separated by SDS-PAGE, transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary reagents and ECL substrate. Store refrigerated in single-use aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, protect from light, and respect the printed shelf life. The product is intended for research use only and is not cleared for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
