Ketohexokinase (KHK), also called fructokinase, catalyzes the first committed step of fructose metabolism by phosphorylating dietary fructose to fructose-1-phosphate. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against KHK and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on mouse and rat tissues, making it a practical tool for studies of hepatic fructose metabolism, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and the tissue-specific KHK-A versus KHK-C isoform switch.
The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock formulated in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Aliquot upon receipt and store refrigerated; the glycerol cryoprotectant helps limit freeze-thaw damage when working stocks are kept at -20 °C between uses, and the solution should be protected from light to preserve antibody activity over the shelf life of the stock. Suitable sample types include cultured cells and tissue sections from rodent models used to map fructokinase expression in liver, kidney, and small intestine.
