Keratin 19 (KRT19) is the smallest type I cytokeratin and a defining intermediate filament protein of simple epithelia. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent targets human KRT19 and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat tissue. Researchers rely on Keratin 19 expression to mark ductal epithelia, pancreatic islet-adjacent cells, biliary hepatocytes, and the subset of epithelial-derived tumors that retain cytokeratin-based cytoskeletal organization. In oncology, KRT19 immunohistochemistry is routinely used to confirm carcinoma lineage and to identify circulating tumor cells in peripheral blood; in stem-cell biology, it is a classic marker of hepatic oval cells and bipotent hepatobiliary progenitors. The 100 µl aliquot is supplied as a liquid reagent and is appropriate for overnight membrane probing and for FFPE section staining in standard cytokeratin panels. Each lot is raised against recombinant human keratin 19 and screened on epithelial whole-cell lysates to confirm a single band at the expected molecular weight of ~40 kDa. Provided by Antibodies.com for research use only, this polyclonal reagent pairs well with complementary cytokeratin markers such as KRT7, KRT8, and KRT18 when building epithelial panels.
