KEAP1 (Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1) is a cytoplasmic adaptor protein best known as the negative regulator of Nrf2, the master transcription factor governing the cellular antioxidant response. Under resting conditions KEAP1 binds Nrf2 in the cytosol and promotes its Cullin-3-dependent ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation; electrophilic and oxidative stress modifies key sensor cysteines on KEAP1, releasing Nrf2 to translocate to the nucleus and drive expression of phase II detoxifying enzymes.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 µl vial suitable for multiple western blot and immunohistochemistry experiments. Validated reactivity covers human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting work in standard cell-line and rodent-tissue model systems. Researchers using this reagent commonly probe KEAP1 expression as a downstream indicator of Nrf2 pathway status in studies of chemical carcinogenesis, neuroinflammation, and acute lung injury.

Storage: refrigerate the vial in the supplied glycerol buffer; the included sodium azide acts as a preservative against microbial contamination during the working life of the reagent. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as the 50% glycerol cryoprotectant is intended to maintain antibody stability through routine refrigerated handling. The polyclonal format tolerates minor denaturation and provides robust signal across the conserved KEAP1 protein in both western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.
