Raised in rabbit as an unconjugated IgG polyclonal, this Antibodies.com primary antibody recognizes the KCNN3 channel, also called SK3 or KCa2.3, a voltage-independent small-conductance calcium-activated potassium channel. The reagent detects the human, mouse, and rat protein in Western blot workflows and is supplied for research use only.

The target is a six-transmembrane pore-forming alpha-subunit gated exclusively by intracellular Ca2+ through constitutively bound calmodulin, contributing to the slow afterhyperpolarization that follows action potentials and shaping neuronal firing patterns, smooth muscle contractility, and cardiac pacing. Pathogenic KCNN3 gain-of-function variants K269E, G350D, S436C, V450L, A287S, A536T, V539del, and V555F have been linked to Zimmermann-Laband syndrome, and V450L specifically to idiopathic non-cirrhotic portal hypertension. Loss-of-function studies link the same channel to seizure susceptibility, alcohol-seeking behavior, and altered hippocampal long-term potentiation.

Each vial contains 200 µl of liquid antibody. For continuous use, store at -20 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting on arrival; protect from light. Pair with an HRP-conjugated secondary and a chemiluminescent substrate for clean band visualization on standard Western blot membranes.
