This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets KCNJ9, a member of the G protein-coupled inwardly rectifying potassium channel (GIRK) family, also referred to as Kir3.3. It is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl aliquot of unconjugated IgG and is validated for Western blot applications on mouse and rat samples, enabling detection of endogenous KCNJ9 protein in neural tissue lysates and heterologous expression systems. Kir3.3-containing channels are predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, where they contribute to inhibitory modulation by Gβγ subunits following activation of Gi/o-coupled receptors such as GABA_B, muscarinic M2, and opioid receptors. Researchers investigating neuronal excitability, G protein-mediated signalling pathways, and channelopathies associated with altered GIRK function use this antibody to characterise protein expression levels in rodent brain regions including hippocampus, cortex, and cerebellum. Aliquoting upon first use and storage at –20 °C helps preserve antibody activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
