This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets the KCNJ2 protein, the inward rectifier potassium channel Kir2.1 encoded by the KCNJ2 gene. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated antibody in a 50 µl vial, it is validated for Western blot detection in human and mouse samples. Kir2.1 channels contribute to setting the resting membrane potential in cardiomyocytes, skeletal muscle, and selected neuronal populations, and variants in KCNJ2 are linked to Andersen-Tawil syndrome and certain familial cardiac arrhythmia phenotypes. Researchers studying cardiac electrophysiology, ion channel trafficking, or neuromuscular signaling can use this reagent to probe endogenous Kir2.1 expression in cell and tissue lysates. The polyclonal format offers epitope diversity for recognition of the target band, and the unconjugated presentation allows downstream labeling with a secondary antibody of the user's choice. Store refrigerated between 2 and 8 degrees C and protect from light to preserve activity; for research use only.
