This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and binds KCNJ13, the gene product encoding the inward rectifier potassium channel Kir7.1. Kir7.1 is expressed in the retinal pigment epithelium and retinal bipolar cells, where it contributes to potassium homeostasis that supports photoreceptor function. The unconjugated IgG antibody is supplied as 200 µl and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples, supporting studies of retinal ion channel biology and disease-linked variants. KCNJ13 mutations have been associated with Leber congenital amaurosis type 16 and snowflake vitreoretinal degeneration, so this antibody serves research into those conditions and related retinal pathophysiology. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, helping generate reproducible signals across different sample preparations while maintaining native protein interactions suitable for downstream assays.
