Raised in rabbit against the KCNE1 regulatory subunit, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG preparation from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, with a 100 µl vial volume suitable for multiple western blot and immunohistochemistry experiments.

KCNE1 (MinK) is a single-pass transmembrane auxiliary β-subunit of voltage-gated potassium channels. It co-assembles with KCNQ1 to generate the slowly activating cardiac IKs current that shapes action potential repolarization, and it is independently expressed in the stria vascularis of the cochlea, where it is required for endolymph production and hearing. Loss-of-function variants in KCNE1 cause long QT syndrome type 5 and the autosomal recessive Jervell and Lange-Nielsen cardioauditory syndrome, making the protein a focus of arrhythmia, sudden cardiac death, and sensorineural deafness research.

Validated on human and mouse samples, the reagent supports western blot detection of KCNE1 from cardiac and inner ear tissue lysates and immunohistochemistry localization in fixed sections. The sodium azide acts as a microbial preservative, while the 50% glycerol buffer provides freeze-thaw stability for routine benchtop handling and refrigerated storage.
