Raised in rabbit against a synthetic peptide near the N-terminus of human KCNC2, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com detects the Kv3.2 voltage-gated potassium channel by Western blot in human, mouse, and rat samples. The N-terminal epitope distinguishes it from clones such as N410/17, which target the cytoplasmic C-terminus (amino acids 474-613 of rat Kv3.2a), giving an alternative recognition site useful when probing tissue lysates where C-terminal post-translational modification or splice variation might obscure signal.

KCNC2 is a Shaw-subfamily delayed-rectifier channel that supports high-frequency action potential firing in fast-spiking cortical and hippocampal interneurons, thalamic relay neurons, globus pallidus neurons, and cerebellar granule cells. The protein runs at approximately 70 kDa on SDS-PAGE, shifting toward 80-100 kDa in brain membrane preparations because of glycosylation and other modifications. Researchers commonly use the antibody to compare channel expression between wild-type and Kv3.2 knockout mouse brain, or to confirm overexpression in transfected heterologous systems.

Supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated antibody in liquid form, the reagent should be aliquoted upon arrival, stored refrigerated, protected from light, and shielded from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity across multiple blotting experiments.
