Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily C member 1 (KCNC1), also known as Kv3.1, is a Shaw-type channel widely studied for its role in enabling fast-spiking neuronal firing. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against KCNC1 and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples. Provided as 100 µl of polyclonal serum, the antibody supports detection of the channel in transfected cell lines and native brain tissue, including cerebellar and hippocampal circuits relevant to fast-spiking GABAergic interneuron function.

Its dual-species reactivity profile is useful in neurological disease models, including studies of progressive myoclonus epilepsy and ataxia linked to altered high-frequency neuronal signaling caused by KCNC1 sequence variants. The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to choose their own secondary antibody and detection chemistry, while the polyclonal nature increases the chance of recognizing multiple epitopes on the target channel protein. Working aliquots should be refrigerated and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity across multiple experiments. Intended for research use only.
