This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets KCNA2 (also known as Kv1.2), a voltage-gated potassium channel alpha subunit widely expressed in the central nervous system. KCNA2 contributes to the regulation of neuronal membrane excitability and the repolarization phase of action potentials, and variants in this gene have been linked to developmental and epileptic encephalopathy. The reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 µl vial, validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human and rat samples.

For Western blot, the antibody enables detection of endogenous Kv1.2 protein in brain-derived lysates and heterologous expression systems, supporting investigations of channel expression, post-translational modification, and trafficking. In immunofluorescence, the unconjugated format is compatible with standard secondary antibody detection schemes, allowing co-localization studies of KCNA2 with synaptic markers, cytoskeletal proteins, or other ion channel subunits in fixed neurons and tissue sections. Storage in a refrigerated state is recommended; aliquoting upon first use helps limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserves long-term antibody performance.
