The Jun transcription factor forms part of the activator protein-1 (AP-1) complex, regulating genes involved in proliferation, differentiation, and stress responses. Tyrosine 170 lies within a region whose phosphorylation has been investigated in Src-family kinase signaling studies. The reagent supplied by Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal antibody of IgG isotype, unconjugated, raised against the phosphorylated Y170 epitope of human Jun. It is applied in Western blot (WB) protocols to detect the activated, phosphorylated form of the protein against a background of total Jun.

Each vial contains 200 µl of antibody and is intended for immunoblotting workflows with human samples. Storage recommendations for polyclonal IgG preparations generally involve aliquoting on receipt and storing at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The antibody is paired with total Jun detection reagents in signaling studies that compare stimulated versus basal states, and finds routine use in research areas such as oncology, growth factor signaling, and stress pathway analysis.

Investigators working with the AP-1 axis in cell lysates use this reagent to probe phosphorylation dynamics following defined stimuli, distinguishing the Y170-phosphorylated Jun pool from total Jun in their lysates.
