Raised in rabbit against the human ITGB2 subunit (also known as CD18), this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, and is validated for Western blot detection of the human integrin beta-2 chain.

ITGB2 pairs with CD11a, CD11b, CD11c, and CD11d to assemble the leukocyte beta-2 integrins (LFA-1, Mac-1, p150,95, and alphaD beta-2), which mediate firm adhesion and transendothelial migration of neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes during inflammation and immune surveillance. Loss-of-function mutations in ITGB2 cause leukocyte adhesion deficiency type I, and altered CD18 expression has been reported in autoimmune disease, severe infection, and certain leukaemias.

Each vial contains 100 ul of antibody that can be applied to immunoblotting of cell or tissue lysates, and the unconjugated format allows flexible choice of secondary reagents. Keep refrigerated and protect from light to preserve activity; aliquot if extended use is anticipated and minimise freeze-thaw cycles.

Produced as a polyclonal reagent in rabbit, this antibody recognises the native ITGB2 target and is intended as a primary antibody for research use only with human samples.
