Raised in rabbit against the human ITGAE integrin subunit (also designated CD103), this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, packaged as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody. The reagent cross-reacts with rat ITGAE alongside the human protein, supporting comparative western blot studies of the αEβ7 heterodimer on intraepithelial lymphocytes and tissue-resident memory T cells.

ITGAE pairs with integrin β7 to form the CD103 complex, an adhesion molecule that binds E-cadherin on epithelial cells and serves as a marker for CD8+ tissue-resident memory T cells, mucosal dendritic cells, and intraepithelial lymphocyte populations. Research on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in solid tumors, gut homing of T cells in inflammatory bowel disease, celiac pathology, and epithelial barrier immunity relies on CD103 expression to phenotype these populations.

This unconjugated reagent is intended for research use only and is validated for western blot on human and rat samples. Sodium azide is included as a preservative, which makes the product unsuitable for live-cell labeling. For western blot, dilute in blocking buffer and incubate with whole-cell lysates or tissue extracts; endogenous ITGAE is most readily detected in lymphoid organs, intestinal epithelium, and isolated intraepithelial lymphocyte preparations.
