Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this primary antibody is a Rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against integrin alpha-8 (ITGA8), a subunit of the integrin family involved in cell-matrix adhesion and extracellular matrix interactions. The antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid formulation at a concentration of approximately 1 mg/ml, buffered in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) at approximately pH 7.2 and preserved with 15 mM sodium azide. It is unconjugated and of the IgG isotype, making it suitable for direct immunodetection workflows that rely on labelled secondary reagents. Validated for Western blot (WB) applications, the antibody has been shown to detect a band near the expected molecular weight of ITGA8 (around 117 kDa) in denatured lysates, and the vendor recommends a working dilution range of roughly 1:500 to 1:2,000 for blotting membranes. The reagent is affinity purified and has been raised against a recombinant fusion protein corresponding to amino acids 907–1000 of human ITGA8 (NP_003629.2), an epitope that is conserved across the species covered by the reactivity panel: human, mouse and rat. Researchers can therefore use the same antibody to compare ITGA8 expression across the most common mammalian model systems and primary cell lines. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognises multiple epitopes on the target, which typically translates into stronger signal and greater tolerance for minor conformational or post-translational variations of the antigen. The product is intended for research use only, is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications, and should be stored according to the manufacturer's recommendations to preserve activity across multiple freeze–thaw cycles.
