This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets the ITGA5 (Integrin Subunit Alpha 5) protein, the alpha chain of the α5β1 integrin heterodimer that functions as the classical fibronectin receptor on the cell surface. Produced by Antibodies.com as a primary antibody reagent, it is supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and the 100 µl vial format is calibrated for routine western blot workflows.

ITGA5 pairs with integrin beta 1 (ITGB1) to mediate fibronectin binding and downstream signaling through FAK, Src, and PI3K/Akt cascades, which makes this reagent relevant to research on cell adhesion, migration, angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and tumor cell invasion. Reactivity has been validated in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting use across comparative model systems in oncology, fibrotic disease, and developmental biology studies.

For western blot applications, the antibody is paired with HRP- or fluorescence-conjugated secondary reagents. The sodium azide-containing buffer permits refrigerated storage; aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles that can compromise binding affinity over time. The polyclonal format offers recognition of multiple epitopes on the ITGA5 extracellular and cytoplasmic domains, which can be advantageous when probing denatured targets in lysate-based assays.
