Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this primary antibody recognizes the human integrin subunit alpha-IIb (the CD41 chain), which pairs with integrin beta-3 to form the fibrinogen-binding GPIIb/IIIa complex central to platelet aggregation. Because loss-of-function mutations in ITGA2B cause Glanzmann thrombasthenia, the target also serves as a widely used lineage marker for megakaryocytes and platelets in hematology research. The reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, supporting studies of thrombopoiesis, cardiovascular disease models, and megakaryoblastic leukemia diagnostics where CD41 expression is informative. Distributed by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl liquid aliquot, the polyclonal format provides multiple-epitope coverage for reliable detection of endogenous ITGA2B in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections.
