The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal Anti-ITGA2B reagent targets the integrin subunit alpha-2b, the platelet glycoprotein GPIIb that pairs with beta-3 to form the fibrinogen receptor alphaIIb-beta3 central to platelet aggregation and arterial thrombus formation. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is packaged as a 100 ul vial sized for routine immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry workflows. Validated applications include Western blot detection of the approximately 130 kDa ITGA2B band in platelet and megakaryocyte lysates, together with IHC staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, with reactivity confirmed against human and mouse samples. Investigators working on megakaryopoiesis, platelet biology, Glanzmann thrombasthenia models, and integrin signaling use this reagent to probe CD41 expression in hematopoietic compartments such as bone marrow and spleen. For best results, store refrigerated at 4 degrees C for short-term use or aliquot and freeze at -20 degrees C for long-term storage; the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative and is therefore not intended for live-cell labeling.
