Raised in rabbit against integrin subunit alpha-IIb, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes the ITGA2B target in human and rat samples. The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is validated for Western blot detection of the ITGA2B protein.

ITGA2B forms the alpha subunit of the platelet GPIIb/IIIa (CD41/CD61) fibrinogen receptor, the central mediator of platelet aggregation and clot formation. The antibody is well suited to expression studies in megakaryocyte lineages and platelet-rich preparations, supporting research into Glanzmann thrombasthenia, megakaryocyte differentiation, and antithrombotic drug development. Each vial contains 100 µL of polyclonal antibody, sufficient for multiple blotting experiments when diluted according to standard immunoblotting protocols.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary antibody of the researcher's choice, enabling flexible detection chemistries including chemiluminescence and fluorescence imaging. Refrigerate upon arrival; for long-term storage, aliquot the antibody and freeze at -80°C, limiting repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The sodium azide preservative included in the formulation prevents microbial contamination during routine handling.
