The antibody recognizes IRS-1 phosphorylated at serine 312, a regulatory modification implicated in the attenuation of insulin and IGF-1 receptor signaling. Phosphorylation at this site is driven by mTOR/S6K1 and stress-activated kinases such as JNK and IKKβ, and is widely monitored in metabolic disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes research as a molecular indicator of insulin resistance.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is provided at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. The unconjugated antibody is validated for western blot and detects the phospho-S312 IRS-1 signal in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational work across model systems.

The 100 µl format is supplied in a vial sized for multiple blot experiments. For daily use, store refrigerated; for longer term storage, aliquot the antibody solution and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity. The polyclonal response yields recognition of several epitopes around phospho-S312, which is helpful when tracking dynamic changes in IRS-1 serine phosphorylation in response to insulin, cytokine, amino acid, or fatty acid challenge.
