Anti-IRS-1 (phospho-S1101) Antibody

Rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against Insulin Receptor Substrate 1 (IRS-1) phosphorylated at serine 1101, supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of purified antibody at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, pH ~7.2. This phospho-specific reagent detects the IRS-1 pool modified at Ser1101, a regulatory mark induced by mTOR/S6K1 and other stress kinases that contributes to feedback inhibition of insulin and IGF-1 receptor signaling and is widely used as a readout of cellular insulin resistance. Recommended applications are Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, where a band near 165-180 kDa is expected in lysates from insulin- or serum-stimulated cells. The antibody is unconjugated, suitable for secondary detection, and should be stored refrigerated; protect from light, aliquot upon first use, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
