Anti-IRS-1 (P618) Antibody

Raised in rabbit and purified by affinity chromatography, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1) at the P618 epitope and is supplied as a 50 µl liquid aliquot at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at pH 7.2. The antibody was generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 600–650 of human IRS-1 (Swiss-Prot P35568) and, on the supplier's specification sheet, is validated for immunohistochemistry (IHC) on paraffin-embedded sections, where it has been used at working dilutions of roughly 1:50 to 1:200. Cross-reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse and rat samples, making it suitable for signal-transduction studies of insulin, IGF-1 and IL-4 pathways across these species. The product is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum to a purity greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE and detects the endogenous ~132 and ~180 kDa IRS-1 bands characteristic of the docking protein. For short-term use the vial should be kept at 4 °C, with longer-term storage at −20 °C in working aliquots to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
