IRF9 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 9), also called ISGF3γ or p48, functions as a critical transcription factor in the JAK-STAT signaling cascade activated by type I interferons. Upon IFN-α/β stimulation, IRF9 assembles with phosphorylated STAT1 and STAT2 to form the ISGF3 complex, which translocates into the nucleus and engages interferon-stimulated response elements (ISREs) to drive expression of interferon-stimulated genes. This positions IRF9 at the core of cellular antiviral defense and innate immune regulation.
This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com, raised in rabbit, recognizes human and mouse IRF9 and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent. It is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, making it a practical tool for profiling IRF9 expression in signaling studies, viral infection models, and investigations of innate immune dysregulation in cancer and autoimmune contexts. Researchers commonly apply it to characterize IRF9 induction kinetics following interferon treatment or to assess STAT pathway integrity in patient-derived samples.
