This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets IRF-3 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 3), a key transcription factor of the innate antiviral response that becomes phosphorylated upon cytosolic dsRNA detection, dimerizes, and translocates into the nucleus to drive type I interferon gene expression. Raised against a region spanning the V391 epitope, the unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, packaged in a 100 µl vial sized for repeated immunoblot and staining runs.

Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), the antibody recognizes endogenous IRF-3 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of cGAS-STING and RIG-I-like receptor signaling, IRF-3 phosphorylation kinetics after poly(I:C) or viral challenge, and downstream IFN-β promoter regulation. Researchers apply it to track IRF-3 activation in dendritic cells, macrophages, and airway epithelial models of influenza, HSV, or SARS-CoV-2 infection, as well as in tumor microenvironment work where type I IFN signaling shapes CD8+ T cell responses.

For handling, aliquot on receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated at 4°C; the sodium azide preservative allows short-term bench use without microbial contamination, though the buffer should be exchanged or the azide washed out before any in vivo administration. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody tolerates minor sequence variation and provides stronger signal in IHC where epitope accessibility matters more than absolute specificity.
