This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets Interferon Regulatory Factor 3 (IRF-3), a 47 kDa transcription factor central to innate antiviral immunity. IRF-3 resides in the cytoplasm of resting cells and becomes phosphorylated at Ser396 by upstream kinases TBK1 and IKKε after pattern recognition receptors such as RIG-I, MDA5, and TLR3 detect viral nucleic acids. Once activated, IRF-3 dimerizes and translocates into the nucleus, where it drives transcription of type I interferons (IFN-α/β) and a broad set of interferon-stimulated genes that establish the cellular antiviral state.

Distributed by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent in a 100 µl vial, this antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows. Host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, and reactivity is confirmed against human IRF-3, making the reagent well suited to studies of viral signaling pathways, innate immune cascade activation, and host-pathogen interaction research.

For best stability, store the vial at -20 °C and prepare working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format gives investigators flexibility to pair the primary reagent with a secondary antibody matching their preferred detection chemistry, whether HRP-based colorimetric readout, fluorophore conjugation, or biotin-streptavidin amplification.
