Anti-IREB2 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets IREB2 (iron-responsive element-binding protein 2), a cytoplasmic RNA-binding protein that post-transcriptionally regulates mRNAs containing iron-responsive elements. IREB2 controls expression of ferritin, transferrin receptor 1, and other transcripts central to cellular iron homeostasis, and is itself subject to iron- and oxygen-dependent turnover mediated by the FBXL5 E3 ubiquitin ligase complex.

Validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence, the unconjugated antibody recognizes both human and rat IREB2, supporting studies in cell lines and tissue samples. The host species is rabbit, and the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum suitable for standard immunodetection workflows.

IREB2 has been investigated in models of neurodegeneration, erythropoiesis, and pulmonary disease, and immunofluorescence can be used to visualize its subcellular localization under iron-replete versus iron-depleted conditions. Pairing this antibody with iron-chelator or iron-supplementation treatments allows researchers to monitor shifts in IREB2 protein abundance by Western blot.
