Manufactured for research laboratories working on cell adhesion, extracellular matrix interactions and epithelial biology, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the Integrin α6 subunit (ITGA6/CD49f), a laminin-binding transmembrane protein of interest in cancer invasion, stem-cell biology and skin-integrity studies. The reagent is raised in rabbit and affinity-purified from antiserum by affinity chromatography against an epitope-specific peptide synthesised from an internal region of human Integrin α6, allowing it to detect endogenous levels of the protein rather than only over-expressed constructs. Supplied at 1 mg/mL in a liquid PBS buffer containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, the 50 µL aliquot is unconjugated and therefore suitable for downstream labelling with HRP, fluorophore or biotin tags of the user's choice. Validation has been performed for Western blotting and ELISA across human, mouse and rat samples, and the antibody has been illustrated in-house on 3T3 lysates to confirm a clean band at the expected molecular weight. For routine handling the supplier recommends shipping and short-term storage at 4 °C, followed by aliquoting and storage at −20 °C with avoidance of repeated freeze/thaw cycles to preserve activity; the product is intended for research use only and not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
