Offered by Antibodies.com as part of its primary antibody portfolio, this affinity-purified reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody directed against the integrin α5 subunit and is supplied as an unconjugated liquid at 1 mg/mL in a 50 µl format. The antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the internal region of human Integrin α5 and was subsequently purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen, providing selective detection of endogenous levels of Integrin α5 protein in biological samples. It is formulated in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative, shipped on cold packs at 4 °C, and should be aliquoted upon arrival and stored at -20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. Validation data on the Antibodies.com product page confirm its suitability for ELISA, Western blotting (WB), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and cross-reactivity has been demonstrated in human, mouse and rat samples, making it a versatile tool for comparative cell-biology and tissue-based research. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on the α5 subunit, which can be particularly useful when monitoring expression changes, isoform distribution or post-translational modifications across diverse experimental systems, including studies of fibronectin-mediated adhesion and integrin signalling.
