Raised in rabbit against Integrin α5 (ITGA5, CD49e), this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes the ~115 kDa α-subunit that pairs with integrin β1 to form the α5β1 heterodimer, the principal fibronectin receptor on most cell types. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal serum, the reagent is validated for western blot and ELISA workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.
Integrin α5 mediates cell–extracellular matrix adhesion through RGD-dependent binding to fibronectin and is widely studied in the contexts of angiogenesis, tumor cell migration, extracellular matrix remodeling, and developmental morphogenesis. Researchers use α5β1-directed antibodies to probe focal adhesion kinase (FAK) signaling, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and anti-angiogenic therapeutic targets.
Because the antibody is supplied unconjugated, it pairs flexibly with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondaries for chemiluminescent western blot or standard ELISA detection. Keep refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity across multiple experiments.
