Integrin α2 (also known as CD49b and ITGA2) is the alpha subunit of the VLA-2 receptor, pairing with integrin β1 to mediate cell adhesion to collagen and laminin on epithelial, endothelial, and platelet surfaces. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against Integrin α2 and supplied as a 100 µl vial for Western blot and ELISA workflows. Reactivity is confirmed against Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting cross-species studies in cell biology, oncology, and vascular research.

Integrin α2 is implicated in collagen-induced platelet aggregation, fibroblast mechanotransduction, and tumor cell migration through extracellular matrix, making this antibody relevant to cell adhesion assays, cancer invasion models, and investigations of bone remodeling and wound healing. Polyclonal reactivity broadens epitope coverage for immunoblotting of the mature ~160 kDa alpha chain, and the unconjugated format permits custom labeling or pairing with HRP- and fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for ELISA and Western blot detection.

The antibody should be aliquoted into single-use fractions on receipt and stored refrigerated for short-term use; freezing at -20°C in working aliquots is recommended for extended stability. Handle on ice during Western blot workflows and protect from light when working with fluorescent secondaries. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, intended for research use only.
