A rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against Integrin β1 phosphorylated at threonine 788, allowing selective detection of the activated form of this cell-surface adhesion receptor in signalling research. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of liquid at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is unconjugated so it can be paired with secondary reagents of the user's choice. It has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples, and is commonly applied to studies of focal adhesion assembly, cell-matrix interaction, and integrin-mediated mechanotransduction in cultured cells and tissue sections. For routine use the vial should be kept refrigerated at 4°C; for longer storage the contents should be aliquoted and frozen, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the antibody solution avoided. Sodium azide is included as a preservative, so care should be taken when using this reagent in azide-sensitive downstream applications.
