Anti-Integrin αV Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the αV subunit of the integrin family, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. Integrin αV pairs with multiple β subunits (β1, β3, β5, β6 and β8) to generate heterodimeric receptors that recognise the RGD tripeptide in extracellular matrix ligands such as vitronectin, fibronectin, fibrinogen and von Willebrand factor. The αVβ3 heterodimer is strongly associated with angiogenic endothelium and is widely studied in tumour vascular biology and metastasis research, while αVβ5 mediates phagocytosis and αVβ6 has documented roles in epithelial homeostasis and fibrosis. αV integrins also serve as co-receptors for adenovirus internalisation, and they participate in mechanotransduction and osteoclast bone resorption.
