Integrin α6 (encoded by ITGA6, also known as the CD49f antigen) is a transmembrane cell-surface adhesion receptor that pairs with integrin ε1 or ε4 to form heterodimeric laminin receptors. This recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the α6 subunit and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl in a single-use vial containing TBS (pH 7.4), 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. The α6 subunit is widely used as a marker of basal and myoepithelial cells in epithelial tissues and as a structural component of laminin-binding adhesion complexes, including hemidesmosomes when heterodimerized with ε4.

Researchers apply anti-α6 reagents to investigate epithelial morphogenesis, CD49f-positive stem cell populations, and tumor cell invasion in carcinomas of the breast, lung, and other tissues where altered laminin signaling contributes to disease progression.
