Insulin Degrading Enzyme (IDE), also known as insulysin, is a zinc metalloprotease central to cellular protein turnover, cleaving insulin, amyloid-beta peptide, glucagon, and amylin. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the human IDE protein and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Supplied as a 100 µl vial, the antibody supports detection of endogenous IDE in tissue sections and immunoblotting of cell or tissue lysates. Investigators working on type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and amyloid clearance pathways use this reagent to map IDE abundance across pancreatic, hepatic, and neural samples. The monoclonal format delivers batch-to-batch reproducibility for longitudinal studies, while the unconjugated configuration allows users to pair the antibody with secondary detection reagents of their choice or to apply custom labeling schemes. For routine use, keep refrigerated; for extended storage, aliquot and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity over months of use.
