Raised against a synthetic phosphopeptide centred on the human insulin receptor beta subunit Tyr1345 site, this affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognises endogenous levels of INSR only when that tyrosine is phosphorylated. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl in a vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, giving laboratories the flexibility to conjugate it with HRP, biotin or a fluorophore of their choice for downstream detection.

Validated for Western blot at a working dilution of 1:1000 to 1:2000, the antibody produces a clean signal at the expected 95 kDa band corresponding to the mature insulin receptor beta subunit. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse and rat samples, which makes the reagent appropriate for comparative metabolic-disease and oncology studies that move between cell-line, primary-tissue and rodent-model systems. Researchers commonly deploy it to follow ligand-driven receptor activation, to compare insulin-sensitive versus insulin-resistant backgrounds, and to map downstream IRS-1 and PI3K/Akt pathway engagement.

To preserve phospho-specific reactivity across the shelf life of the product, aliquot on receipt into single-use fractions and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The polyclonal format increases the chance of recognising the modified Tyr1345 epitope even when surrounding sequence varies between species, while the unconjugated presentation leaves the choice of reporter and blot membrane to the end user.
